Job Description

We are seeking a Sales Engineer with strong automotive industry sales experience (OEM and/or Tier-1/Tier-2). The role is focused on selling TeraLumen’s Terahertz (THz) based inspection, thickness and material evaluation solutions across automotive applications such as metals, plastics, composites, EV components, coatings and assemblies.

You will be responsible for end-to-end sales ownership, from prospecting and account mapping to technical discussions, demos, commercial closure and post-order coordination. working closely with Plant, Quality, NDT, Process, R&D and Purchasing teams across automotive plants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver annual revenue of ~₹10–15 Cr from the automotive segment.
  • Build and maintain a strong, qualified sales funnel
  • Drive the complete sales cycle: lead generation, opportunity qualification, technical presentation, proposal, negotiation and order closure.
  • Plan and execute on-site demos and POCs for automotive components
  • Present trial reports and ROI/throughput improvement analyses to customer stakeholders (plant teams and leadership)
  • Track competitor landscape (testing, NDT, metrology, inline inspection) and articulate TeraLumen’s differentiation
  • Support and participate in industry expos, technical workshops with live demos
  • Travel to customer sites 30–60% of the time across India (and abroad if required).
Qualifications
  • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Physics or related disciplines.
  • Experience:
    • 3–6 years of B2B sales to automotive OEMs and/or Tier-1 suppliers.
    • Prior experience selling capital equipment, testing/inspection systems, metrology, automation, industrial sensors or NDT solutions into automotive plants is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting/overachieving sales targets and managing key accounts in the automotive ecosystem.
