Role Overview
The Senior Embedded Production Manager will lead end-to-end production operations for Respirer’s portfolio of embedded hardware products, including air quality monitors and IoT sensing devices. This role requires strong expertise in embedded hardware manufacturing, vendor management, quality systems, and scaling production from pilot to large-volume deployment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader with a deep understanding of electronics manufacturing, embedded systems, and cross-functional operational coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management & Operations
- Oversee full lifecycle production of embedded IoT devices—from component sourcing to assembly, testing, packaging, and dispatch.
- Translate engineering drawings/BOMs into executable manufacturing plans.
- Plan and track production schedules to meet deployment timelines.
- Implement robust process documentation and SOPs across assembly and QA teams.
- Vendor & Supply Chain Oversight
- Select, onboard, and manage EMS partners, component suppliers, and fabrication vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and service levels with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure uninterrupted supply of critical components (MCUs, sensors, PCBs, enclosures, etc.).
- Evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance & Testing
- Establish and maintain quality control frameworks, acceptance criteria, and test procedures for embedded products.
- Ensure functional testing, calibration, and validation of devices meet technical and regulatory standards.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for field-level failures or production defects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Embedded Engineering, Firmware, Cloud, and Field Operations teams to incorporate design changes and resolve production challenges.
- Provide feedback to design teams to optimise manufacturability (DFM) and reliability.
- Align production strategy with business, operations, and deployment goals.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor production engineers, assembly supervisors, and technicians.
Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and process excellence.
Train teams on new product lines, tools, and manufacturing practices.
