Job Description
We are seeking an electrochemist with deep expertise in electrochemical water treatment, advanced oxidation, membrane-electrode systems, or related electrochemical processes. The candidate will be involved in R&D, design, prototyping, and optimization of next-generation water treatment technologies for industrial, municipal, and decentralized applications. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who can translate fundamental electrochemistry into robust, scalable, field-ready products.
- Design, develop, and optimize electrochemical reactors (electrocoagulation, electro-oxidation, advanced electrochemical processes).
- Select and characterize electrodes, membranes, catalysts, coatings, and electrolyte systems.
- Develop electrochemical modeling, kinetics studies, and mechanistic understanding of contaminant removal.
- Build and test benchtop prototypes, pilot-scale units, and full-scale systems.
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to convert lab concepts into manufacturable products.
- Develop performance benchmarks (current efficiency, Faradaic efficiency, energy consumption, fouling behaviour).
- Perform analytical characterization: TOC, COD, BOD, metals, radicals, intermediates, by-products.
Drive electrode life testing, fouling studies, and surface characterization (SEM/EDX, XRD, XPS preferred).
Qualifications
- PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Masters with a minimum of 2 years industry/academia experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical design of electrochemical reactors.
- Experience solving scaling, fouling, corrosion, and mass transfer challenges.
- Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse and startup environment
- The job will require travel to customer locations.
