The scheme has a total financial outlay of ₹5000 crores, which includes ₹700 crores to establish Centers of Excellence (CoEs) at seven National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPERs), and ₹4200 crores to accelerate investments in the R&D ecosystem within the sector.

Purpose

A. Grants to NIPER for establishing CoE

B. Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma and Medtech sector- projects can be either early stage or later stage with certain differences in the scheme. Every beneficiary to whom financial assistance is disbursed for a Project has to select one of the following options for benefit-share- fixed rate payout, tiered rate payout or share allotment.
