Tissue Engineering for Repair and Treatment: Case Studies in Translation

Tissue Engineering for Repair and Treatment: Case Studies in Translation
Organized by: BioIncubator and Social Innovations in collaboration with BFI-BIOME
Supported by: Blockchain For Impact (BFI) and Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE)
Highlights of the talk
  • Explore recent advancements in tissue engineering, with an emphasis on clinically translatable strategies for cardiovascular and pulmonary applications
  • Delve into the core challenges that have slowed clinical adoption - from immune responses to revascularization and reinnervation - and discover how innovative biomaterials are shifting the landscape
  • Gain insights into in situ tissue regeneration strategies that leverage the body’s own healing mechanisms to promote more effective and natural tissue repair
  • Understand the critical role of elastin in soft tissue integrity, and how its degradation underlies diseases like aortic aneurysms, arteriosclerosis, and emphysema
  • Discover novel site-specific therapies designed to restore functional elastic fibers, opening new possibilities for durable cardiovascular and lung tissue regeneration
  • Learn how cutting-edge strategies have translated to clinical impact, through case studies in cardiovascular and lung tissue engineering.
