Highlights of the talk:

  • Numerous tissue barriers that restrict access to the body operate on the micron scale. To address this, we are developing microneedle technologies designed to selectively penetrate these barriers with minimal invasiveness, aiming to enhance drug delivery and other medical applications.
  • This talk discusses the development of microneedle technologies and their specific adaptations to simplify vaccination and reimagine targeted drug delivery.


About our speaker:  

  • Dr. Mark R. Prausnitz is Regents’ Professor, Regents' Entrepreneur and J. Erskine Love, Jr. Chair in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
  • He has published 340 journal articles, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering and National Academy of Inventors, and has co-founded nine start-up companies including Micron Biomedical, Clearside Biomedical and Alys Pharmaceuticals.
