Requirements and preferences

• Qualification: Ph.D (Analytical Chemistry)
• Experience with proteins; especially, intact mass analysis, peptide mapping, sequencing, qualitative and quantitative proteomics, synthetic peptides
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with mass spectrometry techniques and related computational tools
• Orientation and interest in setting up and operating service facilities of use to industry and startups.
• Strong people management skills
• Solid interest and skills in hands-on work in lab management, equipment handling and maintenance of the same.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, persistence, and resilience.

Job Description

• Responsible for method development, sample preparation, chromatography, data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation using various mass spectrometry and software platforms. Training the juniors on these aspects.
• Experience with intact mass analysis, peptide mapping, sequencing, qualitative and quantitative proteomics, synthetic peptides is desirable.
• Writing standard operating procedures, scheduling sample analysis, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports. Conducting sponsored studies as per OECD GLP guidelines.
• Design and execute protocols and experiments, modify protocols as needed. Develop new capabilities and establish new assays.
• Planning for equipment maintenance and replacement. Assist in procurement of equipment and related consumables. Following Good Laboratory Practices & EHS policies in the operations of the lab. Desirable: experience of working as a Study Director as per OECD GLP guidelines.
• Interacting with the clients and understanding their testing requirements
• Conceptualize and plan Technical Workshops especially those with hands-on sessions
• Manage a team of specialists, provide direction for their work and be responsible for their performance Conduct HR processes for the team.

Center for BioPharma Analysis (CBA) is an initiative of Venture Center supported by the National BioPharma Mission, BIRAC (Government of India).
