{"id":36,"date":"2016-12-08T09:45:40","date_gmt":"2016-12-08T09:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.venturecenter.co.in\/eir\/?page_id=36"},"modified":"2022-06-17T13:14:31","modified_gmt":"2022-06-17T13:14:31","slug":"eligibility","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.venturecenter.co.in\/eir\/eligibility\/","title":{"rendered":"Eligibility"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Applicants should be citizen of India.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Applicants must have completed basic undergraduate training in natural sciences\/engineering\/ medicine.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Applicant can apply as an individual or as a company.<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>If applying as a company<\/strong>,<strong>the date of incorporation of Company \/LLP should be less than 1 year<\/strong> at the time of applying for the grant.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Essential qualification is<\/span> PhD\/MTech\/BTech\/BPharm\/MD\/MBBS\/BDS\/ MSc \/ MPhil\/ M Des \/ MPH \/MBA \/ MSW and equivalents, with under\u2010 graduate training in Science, Medicine, Engineering. Applicants with a BSc degree with at least 1 year of full-time work or research experience shall also be eligible.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>The EIR is expected to be committed to exploring a business idea. Typical NIDHI-EIR needing the support is a first generation innovative entrepreneur, who has no prior source of income. NIDHI-EIR support recipient should not treat this support as a stop gap arrangement to support them in their academic pursuits or transition between jobs.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>NIDHI-EIR is full time commitment.<\/strong> Cannot be concurrent with any other remuneration or fellowship.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>NIDHI-EIR seeking the support should demonstrate his ability to build a scalable technology business startup.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Preference will be given for the following focus areas (this has been based on Venture Center&#8217;s strengths in mentoring and the quality of support available in the ecosystem for converting the idea into a business):<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h4>Health, solutions for the disabled\/elderly etc<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Energy, environment, resource optimization etc<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Engineering products, appliances, electronics etc (Hardware)<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Agriculture, animal husbandry, rural industries (but knowledge -intensive products)<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Consumer products<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Others as decided by the NIDHI-EIR-PEP committee<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Preferences will be given for the following:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h4>Women entrepreneurs<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Innovators under the age of 35<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Business plan that can result in manufacturing jobs<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Professionals with relevant work\/ industry experience<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Applicants with a history\/ track record of invention\/tinkering solutions etc or volunteering with organizations to address\/solve problems.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Applicants shall be evaluated also for:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h4>The potential the applicant has for confidently and clearly and convincingly pitching ideas to potential funders and investors.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Needs to register for pre-incubation or incubation program at Venture Center for the entire duration of NIDHI-EIR support.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Preference shall be given for<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>technology business ideas with larger technology uncertainties and\/ or long gestation periods,<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>technology business ideas leveraging technology or IP from publicly funded research or academic organizations,<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>technology business ideas with considerable potential for social impact.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Entrepreneurs pursuing business ideas with no or marginal technology innovation or those with very short\u00a0 journey (i.e less than 6 months) to commercialization are discouraged to apply<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Should have a formal business plan for the idea, a business presentation including the investment proposal.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Applicants should be citizen of India.
